Hi,

Does anyone know of some sort of protector that can be applied to leather seat with deep / sporting bolsters?

mine are showing some minor wear on one of the seams - which is disappointing as they are only a year old.
I'd like to protect them so they dont wear any further.

any tips appreciated etc.

Keep the leather well fed and supple. It wears far less that way. There are a myriad of products out there but in my experience you cant beat a slightly damp cloth and traditional glyricine saddle soap.

With car leather seats they are generally painted leather, most products on the market say they condition the leather and feed the leather, but this is not correct when it comes to painted leather, the conditioner sits on the surface and whilst it may feel soft is all it will do is attract dirt which will act as an abrasive when you get in.

The paint does wear and my BMW 330 has a patch of wear which I'm going to fix by repainting and applying some leather clear lacquer to match the existing leather.

If you want a protective product I can heartily recommend the leather protector which is part of the car care kit from LTT leather (lttsolutions.net). These guys really know leather and if your after advice, I can recommend calling them and asking to speak with Judy.

This protector will add protection to your leather unlike a conditioner, but no product to my knowledge will stop the wearing to the bolsters.
