If Fisi is offered a Ferrari drive for the rest of the season, should he go?
With Force India's recent turn of pace will it be a backwards step? After all it may well take him a race or two to get used to the Ferrari and new engineers. And if he is completely outpaced by Raikkonen will he be left with a reputation in tatters and no drive for next year. If he leaves Force India I can't imagine them taking him back.
I've always been one of the few who rate Fisichella highly but he had a chance in a front running Renault and it didn't work. Even if he intends to retire at the end of the year surely it will be better to go out on a high with Force India rather than potentially reminding everyone that he was never really strong enough to be in a big team.

Well now that Massa is confirmed as missing the rest of the season Fisi would be daft to turn it down. If it was just for one or two events then he may as well have stayed with Force India for Monza as I think Force India may do well at Monza, top 6 maybe but Fisi is at the end of his career, and Italian and also wants a future role as a Ferrari test driver. . .he has to say yes if the offer comes and of course if VJ will let him.

Exactly - he turned down Mercedes for an Alfa Romeo DTM drive all those years ago to be close to Ferrari, he went to Sauber for the same reason. If he is retiring from racing at the end of this year then why not bow out on a high - getting Force India's first pole, points and podium by nearly winning then entering the Italian GP and his last race in a Ferrari?

Lets not get carried away. Remember BMW also did well in SPA and were was Sutil in a fast Force India??, we have no idea how Force India will perform at Monza.Fisi should follow his heart and leave for Ferrari. The rumours were he was going to be there new test driver next year anyway. I expect to see him in a Ferrari at Monza.

To win a championship? The deal is short term and only for this year, Alonso and Kimi/Massa will be there next season.

But, like many others did, I thought that he proved to be second rate when he went up against Alonso. Now that I've seen how Piquet was treated (and to a certain extent Kovi) I'm wondering if Fisi was even given a chance to really compete against Alonso. I'm not re-considering him to be top tier, but I am rethinking whether he's as bad as I thought he was.
I heard that Fisi has had a clause in his contracts for years that he could leave his current team if Ferrari offered him a drive. So if Ferrari offer him the seat, I think he's gone. I don't think one more win would tempt him to stay a FI. Ferrari is good enough to make it a no-brainer for him. It would be interesting to see him go up against Kimi, and to see how close he would get.
