Silly question but 5.0 TVR Griff engine in a Classic?
They didn't make nearly TVRs claims of 340bhp but 300 if you're lucky is still a big jump on 200 in the 4.2s.
Someone must have done it - sounds fun to me!

280-290 from a 500 engine running well is more typical (there are plenty only putting out 250-260) - and I'm not sure that the torque placement would suit a 4x4 either.

One Landrover and TVR dealer used to do it as a conversion from new if owners required.
TMS I think, sold them under the name of "Lichfield"

Aparently the dealership owner found that the LSE wasn't quick enough towing a horsebox, so be built the first one for his wife to use towing...

One here:http://www.allsportscars.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=361

Though they've had that one for quite a little while.

I hadn't realised that's what the Litchfield versions were.
The one in Bristol has been there a while and from CraigWs comments he didn't seem to be very keen to sell it!
Anyone aware of Litchfield LSEs?

There was at least the one LSE the guy did for his wife. This tells the story I heard, though it isn't the article I remember!

I remember that supercharged one in Bristol being mentioned on PH, but a long time ago and I think PH has changed since as I can't find any ref to it!

By the way, I don't think they have any connection to the late Lord Litchfield

It was on ebay Sept 07 (same garage, same price) and that was not the first time it came to my attention.

The catalogue states the 5.0 as 280 BHP + 340 IBFT The 4.5L is stated as achieving 0-60 in 7.1 sec and the top speed of 120+ however the 5.0 is stated as being quicker but this vehicle is super charged giving a BHP 360 BHP. The performance is absolutely terrifying!
I'm running a turbo charged 5.7 chevy in my Dakar (RR Classic), with close to 400bhp and even more torque. 0-60 is estimated in mid 5's (matches a V8 Jag XJR, leaves a MG ZT V8 for dust). cool
