Having a loft clearout, I have found an old camcorder and tapes. I want to be able to watch the films on my TV but need a lead to be able to connect the camcorder to my plasma. The connections on the camcorder are white and yellow pins, previously had a wire connector that had white and yellow connectors which on the other end was a scart connector. Does anyone know where I can find this type of lead.

Secondly I really need to transfer these tapes onto something a bit more current user friendly i.e. dvd disc. How would I go about this???

All advice greatfully appreciated!

Cheers

You can still buy Scart to phono AV in and out leads; these have a switch for in/out. Yellow is visual and Red is right side audio and White is left side audio. Use white for audio as I suspect your camcorder is mono. Maplins is the best place to buy IMO. Also I would record to an HD recorder rather than a DVD recorder it has been suggested in the press that DVD will be obsolete in the next five/ eight years anyway.

Hope this helps

yellow is composite video and white audio, most tellies still have a composite video input. at a push you can use a red/white audio cable (if you have one around) as theyre the same connetors. if your tv has no composite input you can either get a scart adaptor or a cable. beware that scart has composite input and output so either get a switchable adaptor or a full cable that will have 6 connectors going into the scart. theyll be labelled input and output if theyre anything like the ones floating around at work.

maplin and even comet or currys will do them, links to maplins website;
