50inch plasma in a corner

Hi all, has anyone got a decent pic of a 50incher in a corner, in new house the corner is going to be the only place to put tv, contemplating putting in a false stud wall to sink it into as I have done before, I'm not a fan of stands, any ideas?

I have also just bought a 50" plasma and live in a cottage with low ceilings so mounting it on the wall was not really an option. I have ended up putting it in the fireplace (it just about fits with the stand). It is just too big to go in the corner - but there again the lounge is not huge. I guess if your room is large it might look ok.

its a reasonable size, 21ft x 16 ft

Get yourself a good quality swivel mount. Try and avoid double arm types as they tend to make getting a screen perfectly horizontal at all angles pretty tough.

Expect to pay around £250.00 then put all kit on a piece of furniture below the screen.

It is imposing at first, but you get used to it very quickly.

Angled into the centre focal point of the room. Simple stand and surface mount is fine for me.



There are many false stands on the market, wall supports / arms or ceiling columns.

A mate of mine, built his own extending swivel arm, out of Angle iron and a hinged tube &welding.
Mounted from the walls in the room corner about 3-4ft up. He can move the screen in, out, or swivel left to right.

No pictures I'm afraid, but something like this (if you are prepared to spend the money) can be ideal in the corner of a room. We have something similar in the alcove next to the fireplace in our lounge. The TV "parks" itself flat against the wall when off, and in use pulls away from the wall and turns to the preset angle. Stash all the Hd boxes,PS3 etc in a cabinet the other side of the room and you've got a neat solution. There are manual versions that do the same for a lot less money.

Only got this last week , going for the uncluttered look so the dvd/home cinema system has gone soon to be replaced by a sound bar
