Oh FFS, my 360 has broken...
Discussion
As per the title really, my 360 has given up the ghost. When I boot it up I it locks up and the green lights go red.
I found the receipt, I bought this from Game in Jan 2008.
What's the score then? Presum I have the RRD thing?
Do I take it back to Game or contact Microsoft direct?
Any help much appreciated.

If your local to your Game you could try taking it back with the receipt and spout 'sale of goods act' 'known fault' etc etc. Maybe ring the H/O 1st and lay down a serious sob story that you are using the console at a chairty fund raiser this weekend etc etc and they may just do a swap.
Otherwise it's good old MS for a RROD repair, turn around about 10-14 days at the moment I believe.

Just pray they treat you better than they have treated me:
Same thing, RROD After 2 years. I sent it back to them and they said they'd fixed it but when I got it back there was a letter in the box saying they'd found evidence of tampering and won't fix it!
It was bought new and I've never opened it or tampered with it in any way. They say there were screws missing? There are no visible screws on the outside (and that's not 'cos they're missing). The box has also been opened clumsily at the service centre, damaging it, and it now shows a different error code on start up. All in all I smell a rat.
It's taken me a month to get to the point of a supervisor callback, they ignore co plaints and refuse to give out a complaints address. They simply say "it's been tampered with; we're not fixing it".
It's the most frustrating thing in the world and has really soured me to M$ and their eX-Box.
So anyway, good luck with that!

This story, along with posts elsewhere from people saying they've found their 360's banned from Live despite them not being modded, etc and getting no answer from MS as to why they've been banned as well as them pushing up the price of the Arcade makes me think they really don't give a sSame thing, RROD After 2 years. Put your serial number in, and they will send you a UPS number. Go on UPS site, put the number in, tell them when you want them collect it. Box it up and youll have another one within a week.
Did mine about 4 weeks ago.

Might be worth a try with the shop first as it will be quicker if they do a swap, but I'm 99% sure they will simply tell you to send it to MS.
Mine went a few weeks back, I was a bit slow in sending it, but when I got round to it, I got it back in just over a week....pretty good service.
