I have had a 599 for a few weeks now - chopped in a 430 and 575 for it. all great BUT

Went to Goodwood on Sunday as am GRRC member and just wanted to check its below 105 db - the 430 is and altho it sounds different, it didnt sound louder to me

It is 118 DB in fact at 6k revs, it hit 105 db at 3800 revs!!

So I am now looking for something I can put on only for track days, doesnt drill etc etc and also doesnt impact power (much anyway)

Any other bright ideas??

also noticed that the pipes on it are lipped at the end making a straight slip over and tighten up job difficult, and they are double each side making fitting 1 per pipe likely v difficult!

PS i am not up for changing car again

Try Merlin motorsport at castle coombe, they have a variety of muffler solutions. If you want to get it down even further you can get some inserts from demon tweeks to work in conjunction with the mufflers.

If your car is too loud, you may want to speak to http://www.supertrapp.com/product_sections/univers... they make an insert that lowers exhaust db smile havent tried them in a 599 so not sure on cost / fitting / availability etc smile

Mate's have got the same problem - they are surprising loud. I'll have a look this weekend what they've done and let you know.

Be careful with Supertrapps - too much and there can be too much back pressure and then can cause lots of expensive issues.
