It’s nice to see that safety cameras are doing there job very well, rising money that is, as for saving life’s will just look at the death rate.

Cambridgeshire 2002 64 deaths
2003 66 deaths

Essex 2002 92 deaths
2003 116 deaths

Suffolk 2002 43 deaths
2003 59 deaths

Bedfordshire 2002 53 deaths
2003 33 deaths

I wonder what is happening on Bedfordshire’s road to cut deaths I’m sure it’s not cameras

There is no link to this story yet but I will post as soon as it appears

½ the drivers in BEDs. have probably been banned now for doing 34/45 mph

So the rate is actually higher as there are 50% less drivers and still more than ½ the previous years fatalities.

There's a spin side to everything

***** not real statistics...........did you get that Mr times reporter*****

They fiddle the figures by grouping fatal accidents and serious injury accident together (KSI) - I've heard that a dislocated finger could be classed as a serious injury. It may be anything that requires a visit to hospital.

What is needed is a completely independent body that collects and distributes statistical information.
