Just found this on ebay -

Ebay link

Apparantly an article in EVO Aus taking a VXR500 across Australia. Can't have been an English VXR500 could it ? Would have been a bit of hassle getting one over there especially for the article. Unless of course theres an Aus version ?

Nope. VXR500 didn't exist then.

The articles title says Monaro VXR not VXR500, so prob a UK jounalist visited Oz and drove a 6 litre Z series HSV GTO - seems a bit pointless taking a VXR to Oz when you can get the original car locally. Ebayer embellishment (b*llsh*t).

VXR 6.0L I have a copy and its an excellent piece with good photography.

If you dont already have a copy try ebay, have seen it advertised and certainly worth seeking out.

That article convinced me to buy a Monaro. I thought that anything that could pull those speeds for so long in those temperatures had to be good - and they were using parafin for fuel (well, nearly, anyway...). It nearly made me buy a red one as well. Just think how fast a black one would have gone!
