Expected discount on new U Boat Classico
Discussion
Oh, ok thats interesting feedback - why do they attract such a big hit in value from new - not desirable enough?
I wouldn't really say its an investment watch more something I can enjoy wearing - I really like the design - and the Panerai is a bit more than I want to spend at the moment!
Good pre-owned companies out there? Any recomendations?
Thanks Guys.

Steve - It's just that they are very overpriced for what they are - see this thread http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

There are many reputable Pre-Owned dealers - Blowers, watches.co.uk, Chronomaster sells new & old & Hackett Watches etc. but you'll struggle to find many U-Boats for sale with those guys. I'd usually recommend TZ-UK as a good source for buying pre-owned watches of just about any brand (without the dealer margin) but you hardly ever see any for sale there either.
If it's the U-boat look you really like, to be quite honest you'd not be getting much less watch if you bought a TW Steel for a few hundred pounds.

No probs - happy to help.
Anonimo might float your boatm - certainly have some nice designs & the quality of case manufacture is VERY good.
They do depreciate a bit from new, but are less expensive than Paneria to start with & compared to U-Boat more easily obtained pre-owned.
This beauty is one of the more expensive versions, but what a stunner?

Bang on the money. I wanted a U-Boat but ended up buying a TW Steel instead after reading all the write ups. That's £1k saved towards my future panerai by doing so....
Well, that's exactly what I did via Jura online at 09:00am this morning!
Canteen style 45mm with black face, silver case but I have asked them to customise it with a brown/tan strap as this was the colour combo I liked on the U Boat.
I will whack some pics up when it arrives (tomorrow apparently!).
Thanks to all in particular Andy for some very useful links and answers!
