On my previous car it was possible to press and hold the unlock button on the remote control key fob and the roof would open... does anyone know if it's possible to get this feature programmed into the V8V roadster? Would be very handy.

Cheers :-)

great idea but sadly not possible at the moment, firstly this is a great idea even better a closure option, imagine the seen sat with friends in a country pub all admiring the car then it starts to rain, oh no i left the hood down, it would be a great idea to have this feature enabled press and hold lock on the remote and full auto closure, This is one feature that should be not to difficult to implement, I am not sure if it could be integrated into current cars but i believe it possible as the system is software driven, obviously aston will only make this change if enough people request it, food for thought

This is pretty easy to re-engineer. I have it on my Posrche 997tt and would not be without it. The other feature is to be able to close the roof while driving. On previous cabriolets I always found it cumbersome to stop the car (and pull the handbrake) before being able to close or open the roof. You tend to drive open much less (and get more wet) if it is not easy to open and close on the go so I would urge AML to get this feature as quickly as possible.

the vantage roadster already has the feature to close the roof whilst your driving.

Id imagine you could re program it to do the open/clode by a key fob... im going to speak to my custom shop about doing it ... love that idea!!

Perhaps attempting to revive a thread long since forgotten - but is has there been any discoveries with this?

My wifes new z4 opened on the fob, which is really quite a cool party trick.

Talk to Mike at Bamford Rose. He is doing some electronics jiggery-pokery on my car to solve an electrical annoying problem.

I'd be interetsd in this! Looking at my fob, have a round yellow button and a red triangle... think the yellow one puts the lights on (might be useful), is the read one a panic button that sets off the alarm?

I'm not the panicky type so could maybe utilise that one for the hood!

I'd love this feature, had it on my Merc SL before and it was useful.

Reviving this thread as I'm looking for this for my DB9.

Had remote roof operation with Audi S4 & found it invaluable.

the roof mechanisms are rated for this purpose. it is never a good idea to go and modify one that wasnt rated to be lowered or raised whilst moving or it could end up 100 yards behind you on the motorway.
that is why some insist the vehicle is stopped.
others have inbuilt intelligence to stop you doing it at certain speeds or by mistake.
the cars that dont do it arent because aston or whover didnt know how to do it, its because the roof they used wasnt speed rated.

I don't want to operate it while I'm moving I want to open & close the roof from the key fob as I did with other cars.
