Griif 500 starting

My Griff will not start after it has gotten warm i have power but will not turn over not even a click i have heard this is a common problem on this model, Does anyone know the cause ? and possible soloution ? Also i would like to purchase a leven dash and get some re apholstering done can anyone suggest somewhere i am from hampshire.

Sounds like the 'hot start' problem, I believe there is a kit available I'm sure someone will be along soon to tell you where.
For the trimming, depends where in Hampshire you are, but I have used these guys http://www.hampshiretrimming.co.uk/ based in Southampton, did a first class job and have done complete interiors for some of the other Hants members.

Hot start is a common problem & kit easy to fix. Cant believe I got here 1st !!

In the mean time, If you plan on returning to the car within 10mins, ie getting fuel etc. just open the bonnet when you pull up and leave it open. Works for me

Definitely sounds like the hot start issue. Need to add a relay into the ignition circuit which is what David Beer's kit does. There are some instructions on the Griffth pages.

This should fix your problems (and it's easily the cheapest solution) but it may be that the starter motor is also marginal or possibly the immobiliser. There appear to be several weak points in the starter circuit.

If the hot start fix doesn't sort it, then next most expensive option is the starter (£100-£280) depending on whether you go for a standard or upgraded starter; then immobiliser (no idea but more than a starter).
