Keeping it brief, i have a 95 328i which i have just fitted with a US 325 cast iron block, m50 inlet manifold and a few other bits and pieces. I have just got hold of some M3 cams from a 95 cab single vanos but its a Uk car.

I read up on the cam swap but all mention is for the US M3 cams not the Uk/Euro ones ? Will these fit/work ok and whats the difference between the UK/Euro cams to the US versions.

Any info much appreciated

Thanks

The US M3 was really just a 3.0 M50, if BMW made an e36 330, that would have been the engine.

It even used the same ECU from the 325s, so that's why you can retrofit the parts onto the non M engines

well spotted caboosemoose, my mistake too many M's being thrown around my head lol

This is the description of the block im using/used

M52/M52TU - Straight 6 DOHC 24V with Single VANOS/Straight 6 DOHC 24V with Double VANOS. 1996-1999. Iron Block in US, Alloy Block in Europe. 118kg 260lbs (alloy) 140kg 308lbs
Used in E39 520i/523i/528i, E36 323i/328i, E38 728i, Variation of this was used in late US E36 M3.
2.0 (150bhp), 2.5 (170bhp), 2.8 (193bhp), 3.2 (240bhp) Sometimes referred to as S52US. Engine shares more common parts with M52 than Euro S50, but is a motorsport engine.

Engine is already up and running, 6000 miles and its great. Just wanna slip in the cams and get a chip as its running the early ECU not OBD II.

So im thinking ill just put them in and hope for the best smile
