I'm interested in a 3L M3 and I saw this but it's had 12 owners and I'm wondering why, so I thought someone on here may have known the car in the past and know something about it.

Thanks for your help chaps

dont know the car, but i would want to know what had cost £2500. Doesnt say full service history, so may be incomplete, or most likely, not BMW SH. £5K seems a little high, even from a trader, but would be worth haggling. I just bought a 94, with less than 65K on the clock for £4K. But that said, buy on condition, rather than price and miles.

Is N-reg 1995? or 1996?

2.5k sounds like a new engine. If it's 1996 then that'll be a new engine, and the car will be an M3 Evo, which would have had a problem with no-6 big end.

But if it's 1995, dunno what you'd spend 2.5k on, when it's only done 90k miles. The 95 M3's have strong engines and gearboxes.
VANOS, ECU, head rebuild?

I can think of a few methods of sinking £2500 into an old //M car.

As above, pretty easy to blow £2,500 on an M car without replacing anything major.

If it required a few items of general maintenance at the same time, such as bushes, shocks, discs and pads, tyres ect the bill would soon mount up.

I would have thought it has has 12 owners because it is 14 years old and the type of car that people buy because they want rather than need.
