Has anyone any experience of carrying a dog? This thing is still a puppy and wouldnt sit still. Its not going to get too large, about 16". I was wondering about a grill of some sort to keep him on the back shelf.

Cheers
Jeremy

Have you searched for "dog harness" or similar? - there's been some threads on this one!

Look up Chimyellow in the members directory

He has done a harness for the back shelf to stop Mrs Chimyellows Westy doing a good impression of a misile when he brakes

I ams sure he would send a piccy

Jam1eT has a spaniel I think - at least his ears looked like a spaniels flapping in the wind when they passed me in his Griff (the dog's ears not Jamie's )

Talk to Griffman on the Griffith list - his SO's spaniel rides around in the back of that.

TVR do a fitted cover which fits over the passenger seat, footwell and part of the transmission tunnel to stop dog hairs and salvia covering everything. (Although I've only seen it on a Griffith). A lop to hold one end of the dog's lead can be put in the footwell too, so it can't jump around too much/high.

Have travelled in the Chim with our 3 - X Old English/Beardy, Welsh Collie & Shih Tzu all in one go. Don't ask - but it was fun!

Our westies ride in the back of our chim fine, they're a bit inquisitive so I bought a cheap dog guard from Halfords that just wedges between the roof and the floor behind the seats, does the job nicely, although that downside is you need to have the rear section of the roof up (can take the targa out though).

Just taken our 10 week old dalmatian out for her first spin in the TVR. Not sure if she was impressed or not, first thing she did on getting out was go for a number one.

What's a Shih Tzu?

One that's got no penguins!

Holly fits fine.. this was her in the S.

On the later Chimaera you can "anchor" the dog to one of the Roll cage mounts using previously described harness things.

Cheers
Matt.

Thanks Podie - that brings back great memories....

Max still fits (just about) on the parcel shelf, but I need to purchase a new harness for him as he rapidly outgrew the original.

Given his ability to watch and learn very quickly (i.e. opening doors), I am worried that he has been looking at the Tiv very closely recently, however it will take hime a while to get the feel of my heavy clutch

Well at least now he's had his pockets picked, you'll only have to look at his chocolate starfish if he does it again!

(Before any anally retentive animal rights types get going I should point out, that Max got a bit excited, and once the window was lowered, he tried to get out of the car... but the harness held him in)

How's Max getting on with the edible toy I got him? Blood over the back garden yet?

Top stuff. It'll be good to see him again.

Is he any good with a paint stick?
