Ok, before the complaints start flooding in about being more VTR than TVR, consider them behind the tinted Perspex (any PhotoShop experts out there) they may look less Saxo'ish. I don’t think I’ll be fitting them to my car but would like to see the end result. Just remember that the std fiesta brake lights glow pink!!

If any one can come up with a sub £300 upgrade to the new stlye 4 light cluster (TVR type, not afterburners) I'll make my purchase.

If I ever change the rear lights on mine, it'll be for the later TVR style lights..... I personally don't mind the festa units, apart from the fog.... which isn't the units fault, and a bit of goopy black sikaflex will solve.....

Funnily enough, it was one of the points that clenched the deal when I was on the lookout for my Chim.

I had absolutely no idea what a "rear afterburner" was when I read Manek's ad on PH. But I knew I had to have them!!

When I eventually found out it was the lights on the back (and not an F-16 engine strapped on!) I thought then, and still do now, that they look amazing. Really transforms the rear of the car for the better. I definately prefer them to a set of (standard) Fiesta lights.

Dan,

I agree with you, got afterburners on mine ( as featured on here the other day) I purchased the car with them already fitted, they do the trick and lift the age/looks of the car IMHO.

Hi Steve, glad you're still enjoying the car, done any more yet? Have to try and meet up some time this year.

Happy New Year, Al.

Wow!! Manek had afterburners??

Thing is, he's tempting me into defecting altogether by offering his Porsche for sale

It'll never work though

He's not going to sell it already is he? It's only been about 6 months hasn't it? Maybe he just misses that TVR grumble!!

Hi Al,

Yes upgrading the brakes to later ones with decent pads, drilled discs, will put braided hoses on too (should improve brake feel), I am struggling to get rear callipers (ventilated versions) at the right price at the mo, got all the other bits.

Going to replace the nearside rear swinging arm, re-bush the suspension both sides (probably top and bottom) and modify the exhuast, this will either be de-baffle only or de-baffle and weld in striaght pipes, still undecided on this.

I have gone over the chasis agian, took it back to bare metal and treated with POR15! Replaced all the zipstraps etc...

Are you doing P/fest in July?

Would be good to meet up, had much interest in the Tuscan?

Okay...

After studying Big Al's today (rear light cluster ) I'm going to go for "upgrades".

OMG...I've made a decision!!

There's still a possibility, albeit small, I may change my mind!!

In fairness there are a number of TVR owners that cant spell Chimera (sic).
