OK here's one for you How do you know what your 0-60mph times are????
I mean we all get our 1/4 mile printouts that help us break down how our cars or their driver perform through each stage of the quarter.
Its just that i don't know how to work out what we are getting 0-60. If i were to go by the slips my best time being 14.7 @ 101mph that would put me at approx 8.4 Now i know its more complicated than just that as the car climbs 60-100 in more time than it takes me to do 0-60 or am i wrong about that.
Col and i are in deep discussion about this and could do with some god damn answers
Damn i hope Rich is on linehehe

I use efilive. You can get it to total anything. I just choose the instant it moves off and stop the calculation at 96kmph. Gives an accurate 0-60mph time while removing reaction time etc. Mine was 4.2 sec IIRC wink

You can do a guesstimate with some calculators, but thats like fwhp numbers. Pure junk.

TRAX on Sunday are doing 0-60 sprint timings using laser equipment, £7 per run, tickets can be got on the day. If I go I'll do a run or 2.

Does the efilive scan only version do the above?

Yep sure does and 0-100mph, plus all the usual like telling you knock retard as well as intake temps, also manifold vacuum so you can see if you have an intake restriction etc.

How does it work, just plug it in the comp port on the car then connect it to a pc and get the details from that?

Yeah it has a display too, so you can read off what you like while driving.
As Stig says log to sd card and work it out later. No need for a laptop in the car.

Soon you will be able to read and write to the ECU without a laptop too. Its in beta test now.

Theres a couple of iphone apps that use the internal accelerometer and are surprisingly close to more expensve kit as long as you set it up and mount it correctly.

The problem wit 0-anything is that unless you are prepared to dump all mechaica sympathy out of the window I wouldn't get too hun on it.
After seeing a factory test driver deonstrate how they do it andusing the launch control on one of my other cars once (just to see if it worked) I dont think it's something I do with my own cars

Sounds good, may have to have a look at investing in one! Best place to get them the US?

it's just that Phantom Mark's times were different for the 1/4 mile's. Is it just that a dragstrip 1/4 is considered quicker due to better surface

best place to get them is from Richard (ringram) himself - he's a UK (the only?) distributor and you get the bonus of lots of free after sales support.

I believe this is correct, yes smile

The guy who made the torquestats calculator is actually an active member of the other forum I'm a member of, so I'll double check.

I believe that calculator is quite accurate, all I meant is I daresay it can't be taken as gospel for all possible different cars, handling setup (eg aftermarket traction control, improved tyres etc), conditions, and of course the human operator bit involved in any drag race smile
