I'm an Idiot - Rear Foglight Help, please
Discussion
Dear All,
reversing into work parking space today I clonked a bin which had blown into said space.
This has half knocked the rear foglight out of its hole - CV8 single central fitting.
Can I get it back in? Can I ****. I've just succeeded in gouging lumps out of the bumper and foglight surround.
Can anyone point mechanically inept Jet as to how it should fit. It looks like it should just push in and is held by four sort of clip thingys engaging in holes round the top. I can't see the back of it so maybe there's some fixings that you need to get the back bumper off to access?
Since first posting I found (search for fog light not foglight):
clinky
but mine is different - it's oval, not square,
regards,
Jet

if it's a VZ CV8 I can help. The plastic moulding/valance it fits into is seperate from the bumper. There are 2 plastic clips holding it on, one each side accessible via the rear wheel arches. Undo these and take the moulding off; if my memory serves me correctly you will see the light is held in with philips screws.

Dear wormus,
thanks for responding, mine is a 2004, is this a VZ?
...
Depends, VZ was Sept (IIRC?) 04 onwards. The VZ has proper twin exhaust, stupid yank fuel tank/tiny boot, and bonnet nostrils, among other things.thanks for responding, mine is a 2004, is this a VZ?
...
Can't help you with the foglight, that fits where the towbar is sposed to go... we don't do fog here

Dear tim_the_pool_man,
it's not a VZ then, boot=big.
Update:
I've had another look and can see that the tabs which go through the bumper do not have clips moulded on them.
There are oblong metal spring steel (?) thingies which push over the tabs from behind the bumper. Two are there on the side which is still attached, two are missing - found them on the ground, phew.
I can't get them back on but at least the assembly isn't going to fall out. Something I'll have to look at when back from hol,
regards,
Jet
