I have just become the proud owner of a superb 1992 S3c and have a few (probably) silly questions so I apologise in advance to all the experts.
My existing Pipercross air filter has a breather pipe fitted but the new one has no connection - is this correct?
The seat belt buckle stalks are very long and the buckle sits aginst my ribs - are there shorter ones from another car?
The seat belts twist and jam - is there another remedy other than the seat belt mod. listed (a local machine shop quoted £50 a pair) - is this reasonable?
I have just fitted some Kia indicator lenses and they do look better than the originals.
I have also started chipping off the damaged powder coating to the chassis and using Fertan rust converter followed by Hammerite. Will be a long job but are there any other, or better, actions I could take to get a good result?
Regards and hope to meet other owners and learn more.

Remove the hose at the oil filler and fit one of those little filter thingies - someone will show you a pic shortly.

Peugeot something or other fits apparently. 306 I think but not 100%.

I find that when you pull the seatbelt don't pull it across your chest - pull it straight forwards towards the dash then when you have enough pull it across your chest & plug it in. In this age of litigation there's probably some risk associated with that mod.

Its a pig - taking the body off is the ultimate way to do it (and I'm soon on my second anniversary of the car being off the road
- don't ask!)

Hope to meet you sometime - and ask as many questions as you like, this is a great forum with lots of friendly people! Also have a look at the useful links at the top of this page if you haven't before, and http://www.tvrsseries.com is a great resource.

Hi and congratulations on your S purchase. We have a member of the Wilts TVRcc who has just finished restoring his S3c and...he also lives in Weston-super-mare. I would n't like to speak for him, but he is a possibly coming along to the pistonheads meet in Cheddar this Sunday (see link below). I will also be present and have leant a few lessons about chassis protection in the last 2 years.

If you can't make this Sunday why not pop along to one of our meets or events?

Welcome, I work in Bristol although I live in Plymouth and sometimes go to the Wiltshire TVRCC meets so could be available to help on awkward things some weekday evenings if you need assistance. My website will help you with some jobs like body off if you decide to do it. www.gbsportscar.com
