This is starting to get ridiculous - an Audi V8 is one thing and although it may be a bonus that the motor is light ( all be it a bit of an 'underachiever' @ 4.2 ltrs
), I really must protest that anyone may suggest that we should not only think about fitting small displacement mills, but trim a few cylinders off to boot! How very dare you

Hence why the Audi's going
I have written in the support of LS motors on several occasions. That said, this Audi v6 might make a intresting project for someone to install in a Ultima. If there was enough room to run a fuel tank across the back of the bulk head and a way to package the headers and turbos would be one question. A proper intercooler would be question number two. If this could be accomplished keeping the turbos very low in the car (remember they are very heavy) The center tank would eliminate some pumps and plumbing. The next thing I would look at would be to put a water raditor in each flank were the gas tanks are now and move the A.C. rad to the nose with a oil cooler. You might wind up with a lighter car by a bit with the weight of the fuel and water nearer the ceter of gravity. Done right this could be a rocket. Lee
How about adding a couple of cylinders to the V8??????????

Chris.
PS. i think the V6 would be a great idea. there is probalbe room in front of the motor for a BIG air to water cooler. then you could mount the rads in the side pods (fuel tank in fornt of engine) and have a heat exchange at the fornt of the car....
how about 6.0ltr, ally block, 4 valves per cylinder, 4 turbos and 1.2bar of boost by 1900rpm???

looks STUNNING to!

^^^ Chris, I have been on here for little over 3 years now and have regularly seen your posts not only on the Ultima forum but all over PH's ( I have also seen you on other forums whilst 'lurking' ) and am very interested to know if and what you yourself are into/building/own project wise. You obviously have a vast knowledge of V8 engines but I would like to know if you have any practical experience as this often adds weight to an opinion that reciting from literature can not match.
