I've Just Seen the new Ferrari 458 Italia
Discussion
This lunch time I got to have a good look around the new 458 and its beautiful. Sorry I can't post any photo's but I am sure someone will add some photo' to this thread as it's pretty much useless without them
I know it saw a lot of wind tunnel development time and I am not sure who did the styling but all the various cooling intakes just flow into the rest of the bodyshape so well you hardly notice they are there. I did the full 360 viewing test and couldn't spot a few I didn't like.
The back is very uncluttered with funky centre triple exhaust pipes, I think it's probably the prettiest car Ferrari has done in a long time but I am sure everyone has their own favourite.
The proportions are some much sleeker than the California but you can regonise a few familiar style cues from it's convertible sibling. It also looks visually smaller than the out going Ferrari it replaces.
Only bit I am not sure about is the silver prancing horse on the front is held about a couple of inches away from the satin black centre area below the bonnet, A front license plate unless its a very small centre one fixed where the prance horse is located is going to spoil the looks a bit.

Thanks for posting the photos isuk, you stopped my post from being useless. I don't think photo's do the shape of the car any justice (no disrespect meant of your photography skills).
I see from your garage you are no stranger to fine cars so what were your initial thoughts having see one in the flesh.
If you do order one I'll swap you a drive in my old 930 when you come to collect it!

3rd pipe will probably be the bypass channel for the exhaust. Didnt the F40 run the same configuration???
Sort of the F40's third pipe was the from the turbo'sI think this car will look amazing in the flesh.

The photo's came from another website and must have been taken by a Ferrari employee judging from the assembled group of staff around the car. I'll see it at the launch on Wednesday so will report back in due course.I see from your garage you are no stranger to fine cars so what were your initial thoughts having see one in the flesh.
