Trevor the Rally Car is not well

Just to let you know we experienced a slight problem on last weekends Mewla rally on Epynt Military ranges. Rain caused a lack of grip and a small jump on a very fast narrow road caused the rear end to jump a foot to the left touching the grass and I lost control. The car spun sideways strikeing an ice berg like rock on the rear passenger side B post. This launched us into the air and I have been told we rolled 5 times becoming stationary on our wheels. We were both taken to hospital, My navigator has broken ribs and cut leg from the seat belts, I have bruised ribs and many aches and pains.

Trevor is not happy having about a foot of chassis removed from him by a rock, this also bent the rol cage. I think a chassis up rebuild is now in order and some time before I return to rallying.

Thats a real shame. The ultimate motor sport does have ultimate highs and lows unfortunately. Glad you are both ok. Trevor loves attention and will always be a better car after each rebuild. Good luck.

VERY sorry to hear about the crash - in Motorsport News - apparently very slippery and several cars off.

hope it wont be too long before all 3 of you are back to full health

Very sorry to hear that - I am amazed that there wasn't testicular damage (due to the size needed to take the TVR rallying!).

Sorry to hear that Dave, I've enjoyed following your youtube vids of past events, and hope you and your co-driver make a full recovery. We had a similar scale off in tarmac rallying here in NZ last year (youtube has the in car vid - search on: "pongaroa 944 targa"). It was a huge shock mentally as well as physically, and we had to think hard and long about whether to rebuild and go again. In my case it was pure driver error and it scared the hell out of me that I'd put my and my codrivers life at risk like that. Long story short - we did decide to rebuild, with some improvements we'd wanted to do anyway, and have now done a few events and while probably not yet up to the pace we had before, the enjoyment is 100% still there. Sounds like you've made the decision to rebuild already but in case you have any doubts... go for it!

It went something like Sunday, thats it Ive finished. Monday Ill think about it. Tuesday, I want to go again. Wednesday, I want to go to Epynt again.

I will look at posting some photos when I get the car in.
