Condensation in headlights

I’m working on fitting the computer CPU fans to my headlights.
I have drilled three 5mm holes in the headlight moulding just below the recess in the body that the Perspex bonds to. The black surround painted on the Perspex will almost hide these holes. I have done the same at the bottom but in this case they come through below the cover fitted inside the wing. I will form a small cover over these holes to stop spray driving into them.

The fan will fit in the headlight cover, pressurising the cover and forcing the air into the top holes, down past the lights and out of the holes at the bottom.

Now the question.
Does the condensation happen at any time or just when the lights are used?

The reason I ask is to establish if I can get away with supplying the fans from the sidelights or do I need to bring in an ignition switched supply.

Happens at any time, seems to be when the engine warms up the radiator heats up the front panel and the lights start to steam up.

I think you need to assume it happens all the time as I was about to say that mine only happens with the lights on, therefore I suspect it depends on how youve fitted the covers and drilled the holes, or when you use your lights.

Another option is to adopt the VOLVO approach and wire your side lights to be on all the time!

Given that the manual is a little vague when it comes to the headlights, that's quite likely to happen anyway mate
