Warranty Dilemma

My Audi Allroad 3.0 TDI Multitronic is fast approaching its 3rd birthday, and as such its Manufacturers warranty runs out. My Dilemma is whether to select the Audi 4th year warranty at around £ 800.00, or to go for an alternative warranty at around half that price, or whether to save the money and simply cross everything possible and hope for the best !!!.

My head tells me to opt for the safe Audi warranty route, but its a chunk of money to hand over perhaps for nothing ??? - Mileage around 38000 at the moment, and no obvious problems at the mo

Does anyone have any experience of alternative warranty routes, or if you can advise the best option, that would be much appreciated.

Going by this thread I think you should stick with the Audi one.

I looked at other warranties when my S4 one ran out, and by the time I'd got cover anywhere near as good as Audi's own, it was about the same price.

Allroad 3.0 is Tiptronic not multi - can't have the CVT with quatttro on any model.

I went for a Tesco warranty. It covers much more than Audi and doesn't exclude wear and tear.

I haven't needed to claim but my mate who recommended it has. The policy is run by the same company that run Porsche's extended warranty.

The 'finest' cover is 400 quid.

Sorry - I realised after posting and reading further that I had incorrectly referred to "Multitronic"

My Allroad is as you rightly say Tiptronic - Does this gearbox suffer from the same weaknesses I wonder ?
