Full circle - looking for perfect 328
Discussion
Grew up always wanting a 328, ended up owning 2. First was a pre abs GTB with 1200 miles then this was succeded by a late abs GTS car with only 100 miles on the clock!
Roll on a dozen years and a hundred cars of varying makes later and with me still thinking the 328 is the most eye catching car ever made!!!!
Don't suppose I will find another as nice as my previous 2 but if anybody is thiking of parting company with a concours very very low mileage car please click me!!

Hi
Thanks for making the lead Matt, mineisn't concourse though and is high mileage about 46000 although it is very well looked after and is a good solid useable car. It was the feature car in sept edition of Classic and sports car.
Can let me know if would be of interest as may wish to sell it

I have lusted after one of these ever since I was a teenager and first saw Magnum PI (I know that was a 308 but the 328 is probably the better buy these days) and agree that the 308/328 are probably some of the most beautiful cars to have ever been built. Despite the relatively affordable entry price I have never had anywhere to keep one (live in London and don't have a garage) but this may change in the near future and if so will make the temptation too big to resist.
I have always been put off by the post ABS cars on the basis of their convex wheels, which to my mind simply don't look anything like as good as the pre-ABS concave ones but wondered what the actual difference between the two was like in terms of driving? I assume the later cars were better sorted and I understood the ABS cars were subject to suspension improvements and various other bits and pieces and wondered whether the earlier cars were able to be modified to benefit from some of these without having to get them taken to a 3rd party. Your thoughts would be much appreciated as I really do feel the need to have one of these some time soon.
Cheers
Carl

I appreciate your thoughts on wheels, having owned both types never really bothered me - same goes for GTB or GTS I suppose the GTB is the rarer and possibly more sort after model but now that the 328 is at least 20 years old I am again not that bothered, condition/history/originality being everything..I have always been put off by the post ABS cars on the basis of their convex wheels, which to my mind simply don't look anything like as good as the pre-ABS concave ones but wondered what the actual difference between the two was like in terms of driving? As for colour can't decide which is my favorite between obligatory red or black??
I may be selling my Black 328 GTS for £32K 27000 Miles, either way go for Black, it picks out the lines of the car perfectly.
I would not buy a Ferrari Garage Queen example, the pipes rot and the electronics go to pot for lack of use.
I saw alot of them before I found this one and I have spent over £7k bringing up to a very nice example, its got a Service file thats at least 3 inches thick, the bespoke luggage set and the translucent room (see through) that is extremley rare.
Good luck in your quest, mine has bought me smile after smile. If you have any questions just mail me.

There were a small number of cars built in early to mid '88 which had the suspension upgrade but not the ABS - these are generally referred to as "88.5" cars. They are fairly few & far between and are sought after by those who don't like the convex wheels. The 89s are pretty much all ABS & actually account for about 50% of the sum total of UK cars (of 542 GTS/110 GTB).Aside from the suspension and the wheels there really wern't too many changes throughout the 328 production run. I've seen a few different variations on the door cards & the earlier cars had a mechanical stay at the front bonnet, but its hard to pick out much else. I think the ABS cars have a slightly wider track dimension at the rear which is probably a product of the revised suspension.

It has all the ABS features apart from the wheels and shock absorbers - bit of a wierd one I suppose but unique!
There's a LHD 328 GTS at http://www.thehairpincompany.co.uk/
It's done 12,000 kilometres. Not sure if a LHD car is on the cards though!
