transit van identifying

Apart from the badges on the doors on a transit giving info like 100 t280 some have only got transit written in them whats the easiest way to find out what model it is does it have it on the log book or somewhere on the chassis plate T/y

I believe it to be on the chassis plate but imm not sure about the log book.
