And why would I want to look at that chav tat?? There were one or two cars there that wouldn't look out of place in Max Power, but the rest are quality cars. If that's what you're getting at??

You've obviously never been?

Cheers.

Because sadly, if its not a TVR, MX5 of 9 year old BMW 5 series then its not really welcome on PH.

Very Harsh, too much so, some of these cars are lavished with not just money but attention to detail, something maxpower doesn't understand.

How very elitist.

I think these are fantastic.

I think these are "played out".

Oh come on is this an E38 thread or a fall for the bait thread? laugh

As you can probably see, there is space within the VAG community for all manner of tastes, styles, modifications and budgets smile

As it is a purely subjective matter, we are both right, and both wrong. The pics were posted, I commented.

I want the Rallye.

Greendub this point has been argued to death. I just looked through that link and was astonished to find some really tastefully modded cars which would be seen as fine by the "older" members of ph i expect. Sadly however was also struck dumb by the pointless and tastelessness of some of the others which were just incredibly stupid.

Dub tbh all the cars with their tyres inside the wheelarches and underside barely 2mm above the road are just ridiculous but the ones that are to my mind really just stupid and mindless are

the blue audi s4 reg s204 and the r32 estate. Basically defying the whole point of those two cars. They are high performance cars (s4 more than r32 in fairness but still r32 aint no slowpoke) yet cannot be used as such unless by someone with a deathwish.

Also another point is how often do some of those cars with huge stretch on them need respray on the bodaywork behind the wheels from stones flicked up???/

ETA: Also i could be wrong but the e30 has stretched tyres??? Yet again why?? No one in their right mind would try driving it as it was designed to be driven with stretch tyres so why do it?? You defy the whole point of the car.

ETA 2: The rocco and r32 golf however look really nice as does the vw cargo?? cant remember the correct name.

All these cars are only like that at rest as they have air suspension, the car is raised to normal ride height for driving round. HTH

Thanks for the info.Do they sit that low as default or do the owners lower them to that point? If so why?? Also whats with the bentley badges?? Is it a case of they cant afford the real thing or something?

The owners lower them to that point. They have 2 switches (1 for front, one for rear) to lower the car to the desired level. Basically for looks.

The Bentley theme has been done to death now on VWs, there are loads of cars with Bentley wheels. This show seasons seems to be Lamborghini (if you can afford it!)

These are genuine Gallardo seats, apparently £4k each

and genuine Gallardo wheels and brakes, but the owner had to buy 2 sets of wheels to get the 4 front that they needed!

Gorgeous car, but a hell of a lot of money to try and win shows!

Big dub the simple truth is i just dont get it. Seems to me that all these people were starved of love and attention as kids so are willing to spend stupid amounts of money on plain cars just to get some attention from people.

To my mind if i had a golf like the one with lambo kit before it was lambo'd and found i had a spare 4-8k i would sell it and buy something faster or less mundane ( Alfa 147 gta, tvr, lotus etc etc) rather than waste my money on trying to make it look so well i dunno what the word is.... needy ?? attention we'ish????

Or i would spend the money on improving it if i really didnt want to sell it by improving the engine or making modifications to improve the ride and handling or maybe simply getting it repainted to mint cond etc.
