Anyone used these people???

The Ford (T9) 5 speed box I bunged behind the garden shed 4 years ago has surfaced in less than ideal condition and needs a rebuild.

Any recommendations or alternatives ??

No, but there was a company in Hull that do this stuff, once had a quote to rebuild the diff and box on Rover 220 Turbo that went bang on me. They never actually did the Job but seamed more than capable.

Don’t remember who it was though, soz, not much use really……

Dont think that was it, but the location is the same, so maybe they changed company name.

If you mean Wallis Auto Engineering.

Thanks.

Top gear have quoted £180 ex vat including collection and delivery, which considering the bearing / seal kit is £120 seems pretty good, and that includes repairing the damaged input shaft as well.

I also asked about TVR LT77's as mine sounds like a bag of bolts when in Neutral... £65 + parts.... scratchchin

The Gearbox has been returned, looks good, all new gaskets and seals, the play that was present has gone and for Service you can't fault them, collected the box last Thursday, dropped it off today and then phoned me for payment.

Will have to see what it drives like.

Thanks for this - have a feeling my type-9 is knackered so the recommendation is useful.

Hi There,

No problem... Don't know if its any good to you but I have a T9 off a 2L sierra, couldn't use it as the input shaft was too short for the oil burner. It came out of another car I had and sounded / shifted OK, it's been stood outside for a few years so it's Cheeeeeeep if it's any good to you !
