My plan to live forever
Discussion
On some days, as you know, time just drags.
But on other days, you're running late and would pay good money to wind the clock back 30 minutes. Or you've just had an accident and going back 60 seconds would be enough.
So my plan is to start a bank, where people can save surplus time from the days when it's dragging, and call it back when they really need it.
I charge a fee of 1/60th of the time saved - ie you put an hour into your current account but only get back 59 minutes. That seems a small price to pay to avoid anything from a cut finger to a fatal car accident (or even a disastrous chat-up line)
That minute is added to my life, so I live for ever
If I have too much, I can sell it to others
What's the catch?

Will there be some sort of reward system for loyal customers? Sort of a Time-Nectar card, if you will. Can I exchange my accumulated spare time for cake instead?
Sure! Or you can opt for a tiered time-fee scale:0.00-9:59 saved: 1/60th
10.00-49:59 saved: 1/80th
50.00+ saved: 1/100th
I could even sell your unused time to borrowers at a much higher rate.

Could I have some sort of share in this?

You wouldn't make any money out of it though, thats a problem.
Easy, I just sell spare minutes to people. You send me, let's say, £100, and you see your watch go back a minute... time for you to have another go at reversing your car into that narrow gap and not bash the brickwork...You know, this banking thing is rather good - you can't lose... I can then employ loads of people to do the work for me, and even if they f
k up in a speculative time-purchase future hedge option fund and time runs backwards for a few minutes, the Govt will bail me out!Edited by Simpo Two on Sunday 6th September 20:52

WANTED: Somebody to go back in time with me. This is not a joke. PO Box 322, Oakview, CA 93022. You’ll get paid after we get back. Must bring your own weapons. Safety not guaranteed. I have only done this once before.
Actually I was heading back up the A12 last night listening to a favourite CD and the instrumentation sounded different, as though it was a different recording. I can only assume I'd been back in time, trod on a butterfly and returned - all without knowing. Chaos theory etc.Now I just need to get back to last August and sell the Simpo piggybank

DNA.
Find the way to add the helixes onto our DNA that get smaller over time..and you are immortal
Telomeres. Yep, done that. However it doesn't deal with progressive mutations and cell damage.Find the way to add the helixes onto our DNA that get smaller over time..and you are immortal

As for the £2M needed to buy the time machine, perhaps it's time I went into Dragon's Den?
