If you have kids and you're only going for two weeks you'll spend the entire fortnight at the Magic Kingdom, Universal, Islands of Adventures, Hollywood Studios, Epcot, Seaworld and one or more of the multitude of water parks.

All of the above are very good and will be exactly what you expect.

Some people, especially on here, will encourage you to go to Old Town for the classic cars. I stayed opposite it in Kissimee and, FWIW, thought it was crap.

Apart from the aforementioned parks, where you'll spend the majority of your time and bake your arse off getting tired, go shopping. This may sound a bit ghey but everything's dirt cheap so quality items can be had for not a lot.

Best bit of the entire area? Kennedy Space Centre. You HAVE to go.

We normally stay at the Emerald Isle resort in a vila. Its about 3 minutes from the parks and you'll find them easily.

Wet n Wild has gone down hill rapidly so I would go to SeaWorld's new one Aquatica...got good reviews.

Not sure how young your kids are but mine found a full day a bit tiring so we alternated it with one day at a park, then one day chilling at the beach in Melbourne (about hour drive east) or St Petersburg beach (hour drive west) or a water park.

We did breakfast at IHop (International house of pancakes) for a huge brekkie for small money. Good way to start a day in the house of the 6 foot mouse.

Downtown Disney is a great place for early evening to get a meal and soak up the atmosphere..good show is the Cirque De Soleil......

end of the day, have fun and enjoy....

In all honesty, you'll probably get much better feedback in this thread than you could ever hope to get on the dibb.

That's not to say that people don't know their stuff on the dibb but the majority are idiots.

Make sure you pre-book your tickets ('Go Orlando' 'Orlando Flex' & Disney), I believe that it's cheaper than getting them while your out there.

I think the Go Orlando is a good buy for families as it allows entrance in to a large number of attactions of varying types.

I have used http://www.attraction-tickets-direct.co.uk/ many times and always been happy with them.

also not found a cheaper palce to buy tickets from/

worth asking for there free dvd to see what they sell. gets the kids excited about going also

my 4 and 7 year old have both been 3 times and after 3 I think they had to pay almost full price. but just worth it to see their faces when over there.

Does get very tiring trying to fit all the parks and shopping in. Worth it though, the parks are out of this world and you can pick up some very nice items of clothing for next to nothing.

I've been there approx 10 times and I still love it. We stay at Westgate vacation villas.

If you are looking for places to eat, here are some suggestions

Places to eat (Off Disney property - no need to make dining reservations)

Celebration - Market Street Cafe
Cheese Cake Factory - After shopping in Mall at Millenia
PF Chengs - Mall at Millenia again
Melting Pot - Fondue - Something different I guess?

Disney Property Restaurants (Some are expensive)
Note: Due to Free dining that Disney are now offering you may want to make a reservation 90-120 days before you go.

T Rex - Downtown Disney (Like rainforest cafe but dinosaur themed)
50's Prime Time - Hollywood Studios (If you don't eat your veg the server will make you!!!)
'Ohana - Polynesian Resort (Hawaiian BBQ type Buffet)
Jiko -
Boma - Animal Kingdom (Buffet)
Biergarten - Epcot, Germany area (Buffet) wink

There are loads more to add but I am late for a meeting!! ooppss

Will be keeping an eye on this thread, we booked flights and car hire on Sunday for a 2 week trip in 3 weeks time. Thanks to PH we have return flights direct from here www.otbeach.com for less than the flight company direct.

Did find also 3 for 2 nights offers on the major hotel chains that also include theme park entry tickets. For the first 5 days we're staying at the Crowne Plaza for $500 for 2 B&B including 2 parks (Seaworld & Busch) as well as a themed meal at Seaworld. The package we found via the Seaworld site.

We've got a minor raid scheduled for this time next year, and Kennedy is on mine, the mothers, and the kids lists. If SWMBO doesn't like it, tough.

I'm also wanting to do one of the driving experiences, and the choice is between doing Nascar/Indy at either Daytona or the Disney speedway. Daytona is my ideal, but that would involve letting SWMBO go shopping for the day. Which could be veeeeery expensive.

Go to one of the gun shops where you can shoot just about any firearm on the planet. Great entertainment for the kids.

Prepare to be bored silly with the lack of topography and variety. One strip mall after another...

Get your butt out to the Atlantic coast if there is a hurricane or tropical storm nearby. Great surf to play around in!
