Looks like a clever idea.... but doesn't stuff all come with pre-fitted moulded plugs these days? you'd have to cut off every plug and fit one of those. And that would be a pain in the arse.

true enough... but a folding plug would fit better in the box. Not sure if its cheaper than a standard plug but a very clever idea.

Yes. Ok Einstein, I've got a big telly, a Sky box and a PS3. Behind the telly is a single plug. I don't want a big adapter, I'd quite like to stick all three appliances onto that single thing.... problem is, they've all got moulded plugs already fitted.... I'd have to cut them all off and fit the folding ones?

I don't see how I'm wrong...

Why do you need to inform us that you have a big telly, rather than just a telly? Does that have any bearing on the issue? Agree about having to hack-off the factory moulded plug defeating the object though. Maybe it's the price you pay for having less of a birds nest behing your gigantic TV.

I reckon she might make a few quid out of this. Who cares about replacing the plugs on existing devices? These could be licensed to manufactureres to fit as standard on new products, give it a few years and the traditional plug would be obsolete.

She has done well for herself, i like this kind of ingenuity

It was a st idea the first time round.

On the first topic about this, some guy that had dealings in the requirements of standard plugs ripped it apart and explained why it is not feasible.

I believe the main reason is to do with the fuse being accessible while the plug could still be powered on, and that the points of contact of the rotating pins wouldn't be accurate.

This plug is designed primarily as an assesory plug provided on removable cables for laptops and the like.

For TV, sky box PS3 gear you'd be better off plugging into a surge-protected 3 or 4 gang mains adapter.
