I'm trying to use up tins of food to free up some cupboard space, and I have two of these...

Now I'm sure many of you will suggest just binning them! But does anyone have any other ideas what I could do with them (i.e. cooking ideas please!)

Thats one of my 'guilty secret' foods. Especially when served up with cheap as you can find tinned spuds. Reminds me of fishing trips.

I'd just eat it.

However try purée de pommes de terre and petits pois cuit à la vapeur if you want to make it sound posh.

add mash and peas, or stick it in a pie dish and top with puff pastry and Roberts yours fathers brother.

My wife's grandma died the other day and she brought back a couple of tins of these from her granny flat when they were clearing out.

I tried them in a risotto and they were 'orrible, but popped on top of a hot dog with ketchup and I could have been standing next to the burger bar at a motor racing circuit biggrin

Regards
Andy

I once ate one of these in America.

I give you WHOLE CHICKEN IN A CAN!!

After this, I could go down on Cherie Blair and LOVE it.

I'm not proud.

Ah yes, quality tinned beef, about 80% meat if I recall?
In a pyrex bowl wiv chopped onions, glug o' red wine, salt n' pepper, cook along side ur supermarket pie.
It evens up the pastry/filling ratio, and you get 3 portions out of the lot, well, for me anyway! A great standby. smile

Not a very flattering shot, that!

As for the tinned steak, make a pie out of it or pour it on a jacket spud.
