OK, Imagine the scene. You find that if you disregard reality just a smidge, you may be able to buy a Gallardo LP560.

So you hit the net and see whats on the Autotrader and on the tinternet in general.

Mindful that there is a recession on, the idea of a demo or ultra low mileage used one , with warranty, makes lots of sense. There are some big discounts out there.

But something strange has happened. It seems that 80% of LP560's in the UK are WHITE for gawds sake.

Did some clown in Lamborghini UK order a job lot of 2 dozen Gallardo's in white? Why?

Faced with a choice of white, white, maybe one or two black ones, white, and an orange one if you are lucky, or white , one finds oneself looking at Ferrari's instead.

Look up the official Lambo site, most of the cars in their stock are white too...

Whats going on?

White is the new black, yellow etc!!! seriously you have a good point. I was looking at Autotrader, Pistonheads, dealer lists etc and very difficult to find one that is NOT white. Common as muck eh!!

White seems to be the 'In thing' just now, but personally I'm not too keen. I also think that once its out of fashion, there will be loads of them for sale!

White was the LP560 launch colour so many buyers chose it from the publicity material and motor show cars and all dealer launch cars were white. When I had my Bianco Cygnus flat white 06 Gallardo it was something of a novelty as most cars were either yellow or black then (yellow being the original launch colour). Now white is common place as you say.

Have it wrapped in one of those matte colours, it'll look like you have the ridiculously expensive Ad Personam paint, and come sale time, you'll have the desirable colour in pristine condition underneath wink

Have you considered voicing your concern to one of the sellers?

I have no doubt you could get £2-4K knocked off the price, which could pay for the re-spray in a unique color...

Another thing I've noticed about the UK 560's is that most of them are on standard Callisto alloys instead of the Cordellia alloys... why is this?

... just my 'umble opinion, obviously but the cross-spoke alloys look too much like the BMW alloys of yesteryear so don't look at all right on a Lamborghini.

These, however, do look right, again just in my opinion really...

Been looking...if a manual LP comes on the market for 100k i'll bite. However, I think i should wish upon a star at that price!

Personally i think most of the pre- LP lambo's on the market are overpriced - they make 430's look like a bargain...

Would have to agree, but I think the LP560 is in a different league to the 430, for both performance and looks..........but the 458, now thats also in a different league ! lick
