I'll be getting one of those shortly then!!

Completely different to the Monaro of course. Handles better, brakes better, to my mind accelerated better (might have been down to better traction). A lot easier and far more effortless.

I guess on the negative side, it was almost too easy to drive and it didn't have the same 'edge' that the Monaro has, so perhaps it seemed a little tame, but then I'm sure that would change once I got used to it....

None the less, I'll be having one soon!

Now all I need to do is find some money to fund it!

True I guess, but they have grown on me. And they certainly have presence.

My Monaro is nearly three now and is closing on 50,000 miles, so it deserves early retirement, and I deserve a VXR8.

the monaro will fade into a small part of history but the vxr8, like the lotus carlton, will remain uber cool as a fast 4 door is always cooler than a fast croupé drivingwink

Only to people who know what it is – my old S4 was uber, uber cool, to about 30 people in the whole UK. To everyone else it was just an old Audi estate car. I think you're protesting to much. You know, deep in your heart, that you're wrong.

Even though I'm gallon drunk I can spot a golden ray of sarcasm in Stiggy's post

Stig just misses his 'Ro but won't admit it. He knows though that he can now take old people out for lunch so it makes him feel a little better.

Got my VXR8 at the weekend. Its has the LS3 engine.
I had my standard Monaro VXR 6.0 for nearly two years and 17000 miles and loved every minute.
Looks are a subjective thing but out of the box the VXR8 handles better, stops more quickly, and is just so much more lively. Sounds a bit better too.
And it looks mean in black.

Yeah - I thought it sounded better than my Monaro - The VXR8 I tried had a Wortec Catback not Walkinshaw, as does my Monaro. Lots more popping and banging!

IMHO it's one of the best things in life, if you go for a cam have a good think about exhaust though as mine is tooooooooo noisy on loud with full system.

Aren't you the same guy who was moaning not so long ago how the older 4 door VT's & VX's were holding their money compared to the Monaro
