The gearset is sent away to be shot peened etc and this has taken weeks longer than it should have done.
If I was waiting for it I would have been well pi**ed off.
It looks like I will need it very soon now though so cutting it a bit fine !

Exact same thing happened with me Steve. Once they got the gear-set back from shot peeners tho, they turned it around pretty quickly. If I was waiting for it I would have been well pi**ed off.

I'm happy with the finished product but they're not great on the Customer Service angle.

Yes to be fair he has said that he will get it built up straight away when they come back so hopefully it wont be too long now.
Are you cooling yours ? If so how are you switching the pump ?

So whats a ball park figure for getting your gearbox sorted on a five speed
Ball park figure is £1200 for a low mileage box that it's worth shot-peening.

CTS have been building stronger gearboxes for cars for many years and the owner himself is a keen clubman racer
they do not just replace the parts but modify the gearbox to increase oil flow to the bearings and fit double ball race bearings where possible
i can testify the work they do works - I had destroyed 6 gearboxes before I met them and was one of thier first customers for this type of treatment (not a noble - but a similar fwd ford gearbox) the gearbox they have built me has lasted nearly 8 years and has had some punishment in that time
the secret is making sure the bearings do not fail and are lubrcated constantly - if the bearings wear, the gears loose thier meshing capability and the gearbox will fail
there are plenty of stories of standard noble boxes failing - but to my knowledge a CTS gearbox has never failed
ask Adrian if he thinks a std Noble box would last very long in his car
