It really pisses me off when watching F1, there is some action on track and they cut to footage of some scumbag 'hangers on' and 'attention bimbos' who know fk all and are just there for the attention and free champagne. They are bored to death and don't know what is going on but when the camera is on them they jump around a bit and pretend to care.

I'm not talking before the race, most like seeing the grids girls and Martin Brundles interviews. I'm talking during the race.

It particularly annoys as I have worked in motorsport and know what a bunch of annoying, useless, attention seeking s thes hangers on are.

I really really don't want F1 'wags' or 's' as I call them.

I will say though that I do enjoy seeing how 'geezer-ish' Jensens dad looks each race.

I dont mind seeing the hangers on and dads as long as they dont cut from real action to show them. Unless its Lewis's cradling snatching ex stripper bird, she's horrendously vacuous and self absorbed and not all that good looking either really.

This is exactly what I'm talking about, cutting to these idiots during a race annoys the crap out of me.

I cant say it bothers me one bit who is at the races, in fact i quite like meeting the very different types of people that come to race meetings whilst I'm working on the cars. No matter what the motivation is for being there, be they wives, girlfriends or just associates of some sort, I'd rather they are there than just have the knowledgeable people in my sphere of work being the only ones i get to meet.

The added bonus of having the none essential, in your view, people there is they help keep the drivers happy and relaxed whilst those of us working to get the cars ready have our hands full. Get rid of the social aspect of the events and you also may be getting rid of the people who pay for the racing. They are a positive, not a negative IMHO.

I'd rather the TV focused on the action when something is happening on track of importance, but i don't have a problem if they show the odd shot in the garage of Nicole, or whoever. I cant say i judge people on how they look either, your bimbo might be a rocket scientist.

When they cut to the garage full of fully suited mechanics watching monitors between pitstops it is not much better (adds no real value to the coverage)- all you get is an embaressed wave at the camera - okay towards the end if it is close or a team is very anxious for a win, maybe. Scanning the prat perches is fine, since they are involved in the action.

But I think overall I'm with you on the vacuous hangers-on that stumble into the garages. I'd even forego shots of John Button or Massa Snr (obviously when Massa junior was/will be in the car!) if it spared me seeing Hamilton Snr!

That really annoys me when there are two cars in close proximity (whatever the racing - happens in BTCC a lot too) and it's clear that the guy behind is going to have a go...then cut to the garage. Great, I really want to watch other people watching something interesting...

Im quite surprised and impressed with Hamiltons mrs attendance record at races now - she genuinely seems to be there on the edge of her (yummy) seat whilst he's out burning petrol.

I too thought it was just a bit of 'free limelight' she was after to start with but it didnt stop her attending when the chips were down for him!

Good on her (and it makes pleasant change from watching his dad 'being important')

Like it or not BUT F1 needs and has fed off the glamour and the famous and the beautiful women of the world since it began. Do you actually think that Monoco is the first circuit ticked every year because its a great track??? Its the Glamour and the rich beautiful people of the world that makes Monaco.

Watch Tennis - Camera focuses on Federers wife and entourage or Andy Murrays Mum

Watch Basketball or Boxing - Camera will focus on the VIP guests or family members ringside

Are we seeing a pattern here? Maybe you should all go and watch something else if the camera focusing on family members really pisses you off. Let me know what Sport you actually find that does'nt.

P.S. Dont watch the World Cup next year as no doubt the Camera will focus on Cheryl Cole and Posh(If Beckham makes the team that is)

It drives me mental when he asks them who they'll be cheering for, and they struggle to name a team or driver, most just mumble Ferrari because its the only team they know.

Why these people get to walk the grid while the true F1 fans are kept about 500 feet away is a mystery to me. There should be a lottery prior to each race and paddock/grid passes given to a selection of real fans, who have paid their own money to attend, rather than hangers on who are there for the free weekend away.

I'm surprised at that. I always thought it would be distracting. My lad plays rugby seriously and will sit on his own before the match starts and gets grumpy if you talk to him. And he goes really OTT if, during the match, his mother runs on the pitch to remonstrate with anyone who has hurt him.

When leaving Sweet Lamb during the Lombard/RAC rally I came across a servicing area. It was teaming with rain (Wales) and there was this whitish sludge coming down off the hills. It had formed a river and was making its way through the servicing area. The mechanics were on plastic tarpaulins but these had been overwhelmed by the sludge and they were inches deep in the stuff. One mechanic was replacing a central diff (somewhat speckled with the sludge) and I knelt down (waterproof trousers on over waterproof trousers over normal trousers) to take a photograph and the chap said: If you take a picture I'll stuff that camera [in an orifice of unsuitable size].

I like the family sort of stuff. Let's face it, most 'hangers on' (a bit harsh I feel, and I won't even comment on 'attention bimbos') go from race to race, sit in camping chairs, make sandwiches and tea, in all weathers, and then, worst of all, have to listen to excuses on the way home. They are more than entitled to their five minutes of fame. Not to mention a decent meal on the way home. They are heroes.

George Lucas does have just as much interest as you or I. He is a regular at Goodwood type events even racing himself at the annual Long Beach Pro-Celebrity race. He was also the first owner of a Mosler MT900S.

I think you will find that Martin Brundle is interviewing celebs that he is told to talk to, very rarely does he seem to be geniunely interested in what they have to say, and quite often he will say things like "lets go and talk to someone who matters now."

I've notice a marked decline in the numbers of celebrity interviews on the gridwalks since the move to the BBC.
