So, Silverstone is hosting the last round of the Le Mans Series and I wondered if any PH people were making their way over for it?

I'm thinking of getting a weekend ticket and camping nearby... anyone else game?

I'm going just for Sunday as the Elise needs a service on Saturday. Really can't wait - the racing's been really good this year and an Aston Martin victory would be just the ticket.

Ah nice one. Yes, an AM victory would be superb! I'm debating camping too, still haven't got over Le Mans 2009 smile It'll be the last run out of the Drayson Racing DBR9 too.. camera at the ready!

Are you camping, Doug or do you live nearby? Debating what to do!

Staying with an equally petrol addicted mate who lives nearby. Never camped at Silverstone before - not sure what the facilities are like. The White Rabbit chaps organised a site there for the Britcar24 a couple of years back I think and might know more about it. You'll probably find that a lot of marshals will stay over. In the past I've seen tents outside the fenceline behind the start/finish straight but if you can bluff your way in, the campsite at Farm always looks nice. Loos and a shower block available.

I was fortunate enough to be at Silverstone for the FIA GT Championship when the DBR9 debuted so this will be a nice way to book-end its career.

Shame the CER only races on the Saturday - some awesome machinery usually out in that as well.

That is a phenomenal entry. They'll all be falling over each other to get entried to Le Mans Classic next year! The Matra, Howmet, 712 and Moby Dick alone would be worth the entrance fee; quite apart from the rest of the field.

Hi there,

I'll be at Silverstone tomorrow to get some shots of the free practice sessions for the Le Mans Series race and the CER. Then back to the track on Sunday for the main event, probably going to photograph the start and then find somewhere to sit and watch the race.

Heres a couple from 2008

Look out for a really tall guy Tim, that'll be me - am planning to shoot the start, then sit in the luffield stands and take in the car-cophony of sound! smile
