It's complicated! What more do you want?
Have you lined up another job?
I've resigned after being here only a month or so. Long story but moving abroad. I asked to shorten my notice period, but it has fallen on deaf ears. Wouldn't mind but I have nothing of importance to do.
Ypu say you're moving abroad, are you coming back & will you be working in the same industry as your current job? if the answer is yes then negotiate a shorter notice period.
If the answer is no then just give the firm the notice period you want to work & move on, in reality if you've only been worling for the firm for a month I'm sure they wont be that bothered, unless due to training they've invested a lot of money in you over your first month.
