I pass this on an almost daily basis and my son likes to have a good nosey at what cars they have in (he is 11 !)

However they always seem to have a range of non Bentley cars, some with very low mileage. I think one of the bosses seems to be able to get new Ferraris as well!

Just being curious, how do they get these non-Bentley cars, would have thought there would be waiting lists for cars like the California, do they just buy from another dealer?

Also is Scotland full of Ferrari, Lambo, Range Rover Overfinch owners who only keep cars for a couple of thousand miles and then change for a Bentley?

Just my curiosity and nosiness getting the better of me!

i think douglas park orders some of the newer cars for himself then runs around in them for a couple of weeks then puts them up for sale.

That would explain the DP registrations you see about the place though I think there is another G* or something equally short, think thats on the California just now?

Seems to be quite common to have a range of cars for sale in these places. For example my brother once saw a Veyron for sale in a Bentley Dealership down south. Guess some of it's trade-ins, some might be the owner trying new cars and then selling (as mentioned) and for some just a case if they think they can make a profit on them?

the douglas park bentley garage in hamilton has had some wonderful cars in, ariel atom, 430 scud, california, bentleys, rolls, r8, nissan gtr. I'm 99% sure they actually do car searching so to speak, for customers and find the car theyre looking for, to run as a bentley only garage would be quite hard to do, hence why they have other cars as well

Douglas has always orderd cars as they come out and likes to have the newest and most desrible. They alos have a failry rich cleint base who trade cars fairly often. They have tried to get into other cars in big ways eg Porsche when Al Paterson was manager there, but now have an Overfinch Franchise
The White Claifornia belongs to the Quarry owning family who I think have all the G+ regs??? likewise they tend to buy everything new that comes out
Currently Parks have a 599, gallrado spyder, AM Vantage V8, Claifornia and loads of bentlys!

Paul I know "the family" you refer to but there is one reg that is always there but regularly changes cars, sometimes at Bentley and other times at BMW.
Currently on white California that sits there a lot.
Maybe its not G*, I will check the next time I pass.

the california has G8 on it,is no great secret! Been sitting there for about a month and I think it belongs to the family!
Passed by with the 328 today, just dont like the california, too big, and badly proportioned! Seems vast compared to the 328 which i think is about the right size for a sports car.
Keep pining after a bently saloon but have enough big engined cars just now! Absolutley gorgeous and increadably capable esp above 100mph!

G35 (I'm sure!?) is his son's plate. It was on the M3 Convertible I test drove a couple of months ago, the salesman was telling me it's 'the Boss's son's!'.
