Hi,

What is the opinion on wrapping headers on a Supercharged Monaro?

Coming from mainly turbo cars where its normal to wrap the exhaust due to the temps involved, I was wondering if its worth doing on a Supercharged V8?

Oh and mine has the Wortec headers I believe, if that makes any difference.

Dave.

Probably helps, but apparently accelerates rusting the headers too.

I've heard the same about corrosion as it traps moisture underneath.
I think Madmunky was going to try some header wrap to see the effects.

You can also have your headers coated which supposedly helps under bonnet temps. Had mine ceramic coated, although still seem to give off a sh*t load of heat under the hood may still be better than nothing.

Also be aware that holding the temperature in can cause weld joint failure if you are really giving it some...

Waste of time. I would only ever consider it as a last resort to protect other items in the engine bay from heat.

It works, but from experience leads to premature cracking on tubular manifolds.
