"Dave!" Whens the rallying coming back?
Discussion
Only got to a couple last year, I've got weekends off now so I'm looking forward to muddy forests!
Nights are drawing in, leaves are starting to drop - can only mean its time for a bit of Rallying!
Where can I find a list of events? Do you know your plans yet?
Be good to know, so I can come along to cheer you on!

I was just about to start a thread to see if anyone is planning to go to the Trackrod Rally later this month http://www.trackrodmotorclub.co.uk/RYhome.html
My hope was that the mk2 would be ready in time to go in, but the bodyshop is still busy with the welder and then it'll be getting painted. At the rate they're going, it might be ready for Trackrod 2015.

Sorry for not keeping the rallying thread going. It's a bit of a selfish one on my part. My car's on its last legs after the roll on the Riponian, nothing structural, it just looks a bit of a mess but I'm not doing events intentionally to save money to rebuild a new shell so as a result I'm not getting as involved so haven't posted. Sorry.
The Trackrod is on 27 September as reported earlier. It's always a cracking event and uses Dalby for the only time this year.
The Premier is normally in Early October but has been moved back to late November and will run over two days and well into the night to give entrants a rare chance to run in the dark. This one's in the Sherwood complex.
RAC starts from Pickering this year and spends the Friday night and most of Saturday in Yorkshire before heading up to Scotland and Keilder for a further two days. Well worth taking the time off. We'll be doing it this year for the 6th time, probably in the battered shell for which I apologise in advance but there is a recession on you know. We may even be fielding a team of two cars this year as Graham Wood and Guy Waddington have not managed to secure a run on Mull (early October) once again so are looking at other events to compete on.
The Malton Forest Rally is usually on the first weekend in November but I've heard nothing about it this year. It is also a massive clash with the RAC so might have had a date change? Anyone any ideas.
Other events are the Harold Palin Memorial Rally on 3 October at Manby in Lincolnshire and the Rockingham Stages which is a cracking event at the oval in Corby but uses just about every inch of tarmac in the venue to give massive 10 mile stages. That's a two dayer on 5th and 6th December. Just outside Yorkshire but only an hour and a half away.

That's a bit of a sickener. It never fails to raise a smile when we hear those chimes approaching in a forest.
For anyone who doesn't know the MK2 in question, this is how it looked about 2 seconds before things went very wrong and i exited stage right behind a big tree!

Forgot about this... I went to the Trackrod, enjoyed it, but it didnt seem as organised and smoothly run as in previous years.
Did they change the starting intevals for some classes? It seemed like they tried to do too many miles in too short a time, so when there was a big accident (the BMW that rolled I guess?) It screwed the whole of the rest of the day up.
Ok, so we have the R.A.C coming up in the middle of November. Then my favourite - the Grizedale stages at the start of December. Are you entered in this Dave? Car straightened up ok?
I really, really enjoyed the Grizedale stages last time I went (07 IIRC). Unlike Dalby etc - there are a lot of vast, open areas so you really get to see the cars at full chat for long periods of time, streaking across the landscape.
Anybody fancy a really early PH trip up?

Yes, they did change the start times for the Nationals - merged them with the Clubmen as the weren't many entries.
Hence the gap between runners you will have seen. As the first course car ahead of the Nationals/Clubmen into the stage where the BMW went off we had to stop the recovery so the rally could run to time.

Entry's in Mate. I think they're seeding tonight.
The car is currently in bits across most of West Yorkshire with the gearbox being rebuilt in one place, the clutch getting re-ligned in another, etc etc. Although the car will still look shabby as it's not got re-shelled, it will be like brand new under the skin.
Hoping for another good result but I assume there'll be a lot of people after our blood.
Racing a Brands Hatch tomorrow in an MR2 so when I get that out of my system it will be all systems go for the RAC.
Don't forget the Premier in Clipstone the week after the RAC, runs Sat night, Sunday morning, and Malton is the week before the RAC I think.
