Tipping your supermarket delivery driver?
Discussion
I have to admit, I'm a bit of a tipper: cabbies, restaurant staff, barber etc etc. Nothing massive, just the usual % or rounding up the note.
Not sure about supermarket home delivery drivers though. I always feel like offering him a couple of quid for a pint, but the missus says no as she's just spent a load on groceries and the guy is just doing his job by dropping off the crates at the doorstep, it's not as if he puts everything away in the kitchen cupboards for you.
You?

Don't tip them. They get paid better than the pickers for doing less work. If you must tip someone, find the name of the picker and get it to them.
Source: MiL is a picker. Not me, right?
Most supermarkets employ performance based pay, so the pickers will only get paid less if they don't meet targets?Source: MiL is a picker. Not me, right?

Yes, they deserve a tip for the amazing skill they have of picking items with a Use By date of the day of delivery or at most the day after
t whether anyone gets tipped or not, they should have tried harder at school if they can't live on a picker's wages. But I will give them this - it's hard work and most of them start between 4 and 5 in the morning for crap pay.Papa_Hotel said:

Ocado used to carry the bags upstairs, and put them in the kitchen for me
