Anyone know about Stowmarket?

As the title says.....i know its not a very large town (is it even a town?) but in comparison to say Diss, Norfolk how does it compare?

Is there at least one 'youthful' pub on a fri night (i.e. loudish music, dancing etc....rather than a traditionally 'sit down and chat with glass of ale' old type of pub)? Is there a decent supermarket?

There are loudish pubs but unless your fking your sister your wont be allowed in.

Seriously, its ok and dont forget Newmarket is just down the road ish, its got lots of clubs and dirty women.

I once stayed in a Travelodge near Stowmarket and drove into the town for a curry. Neither the curry nor the town were memorable I'm afraid.

I went to school near there and haven't been back there for about 14 years - which isn't long enough to have been away from Stowie...

Cheers for the replies guys.....i suppose its quite hard to get an accurate opinion as any location is a subjective matter. Hence me trying to use Diss as a comparison.

Will prob pop out there start of next week to view some properties.
