Thinking of buying a Seat Ibiza

Hi, I have been looking at insurance quotes and the cheapest I have found is the seat ibiza 1995 model. I was wondering if these cars are good e.g on fuel and tax and reliability?

Depends on the engine, but cheap enough to run, solid enough as they share VW mechanicals and nippy enough. Just be weary of the numerous tired examples that are now in circulation.

You need a 1.4 in those things, the 1.0 is a bit sluggish. My mate has the 1.4 CHILL, not bad for the money paid.

Would it be worth the extra 200 quid to insure and would it keep up with a 1.0 or 1.2 corsa?
