Yes, I've got the DICE Silverline in my E46 coupe. Very pleased with it. Providing you've already got a CD changer, its quite easy to install (it replaces the CD changer and connects to the same wiring). On the E46 the lazy option is to leave the box (and iPod) in the boot. But I routed the cable for mine through to the the glovebox.

I wouldn't say I'm an expert mechanic (far from it), but I managed to get it working in about 15 minutes. Once I knew it worked, it then took about another half an hour to carefully route the cables from the rear to the front of the car.

The DICE Silverline recharges your iPod too (if the iPod supports USB charging I think).

+1 apart from I kept it in the boot and it took me 13.67 seconds to install.

I've also got a DICE and can't recommend it enough. Even if you don't have a CD changer the wiring will still be there for one. I made a guide here on how to fit one, put mine in under the armrest...

I have a DICE Silverline in my E39. When I bought it (ages ago now) it was the best option for a non-nav car, and it cost about £90 delivered.

I did spend quite a long time taking bits of the car apart to route the cable to the front, thinking I knew best. But watching the installation videos on Youtube demonstrated that the cable was actually just right for the easy installation DICE suggest (doh!) so I put everything back together and installed it very quickly.

Do you think this DICE system would fit an E87 with the Professional radio/single CD unit?

Hmm, I have a DICE Silverline in my E39 and whilst it was indeed a doddle to fit, I don't think it's really that good a solution compared to others on the market.

It is cheap, but I think that shows. It's a pretty flaky piece of kit. Mine quite often has a mind of it's own and requires a reset or an ipod reset (ie every time I turn off the car).

If you have anything other than a small number of tracks or artists on your ipod the only effective way of navigating is creating playlists in advance. Otherwise you end up scrolling through endless lists to get to the one track you want, which is irritating and distracting.

It is good at maintaining the OEM look of the inside of your car as it uses the MID to display track info (on the rare occasions when it works without a load of fiddling).

But by far the worse thing is the customer service I have had from them - really poor, I ended up resolving a few problems I had with the thing myself.

It's OK if you are on a tight budget and really want to keep your car looking as original as possible, but if you have a bit more money to spend or you don't mind fitting an aftermarket head unit, there are far better options out there.

In contrast, I've had to reset my DICE only once since I installed it, well over a year ago.

And any way of accessing songs is going to be a struggle without the iPod controls, but you can set it so that the controls on the iPod aren't disabled if you want.

If you have nav then get the Dension, it allows you to browse your ipod using the nav, searching by artist, playlist, album etc. etc.

As does the Dice and Intravee, however I have read alot more negative reviews regarding the Desnsion compared to the other 2..
