Right then, I need to find some replacement brake pads for my Celica GT and have no idea which ones would be best for both track and road use? anyone any ideas?

I think a lot will depend on you budget, I've used DS2500's as a compromise between the two and they worked well although this was on a lighter car (clio 172) I've also heard good things about Pagid pads

Why change from standard? Have you had any issues with the OEM brake pads?

I use Pagid Blue (RS4-2) in the 911, which I guess is of similar weight to your Celica, and they are excellent but expensive.

You need to start by getting out and doing a day in the car Jason, then decide what needs improving.

Pagid RS-29 (Yellows), same as used by a lot of endurance racing teams. Expensive but outstanding pads.

Pagids for me too. RS15 greys in my case. Very expensive but not as expensive as the car not stopping!

You won't have heard of these, but they are better than Ferodo's.

Best bet is to give Ian a call on 01768 885 000 and let him tell you about them. Top pads and top service. I wouldn't use anything else on my Evo 8.

+1 for Pagid Blue (RS4-2) they last very well and performance cold and hot is really excellent!

Performance friction on my 328 (similar speed/power to your celica?) perfect.

Brilliant advice from all thanks, reason I am asking is the celica brakes are not that great and need replacing anyway so thought if I am to replace the brakes may as well find out the best ones for the job!

I agree Steve but I need to make sure the thinkg stops before I go on the track....

I'd put good fluid slightly higher up the list than pads - OEM pads can be fine with good fluid....if not Pagid Blues are the way I would go for road and track - pagid orange for track only. Avoid EBC and Performance Friction - both rubbish IMHO.

Couldn't disagree more and am very surprised at your experience there. I use PF pads in my track car and road car and cannot fault them in any way. Never fade, very hard wearing, retard very well.

for me they either glazed quickly on road or disintegrated on track - also squealed like a bstd - changed to the pagid orange and had no further problems (they also squealed like a bstd when cold, but far better performance)

How much do you have to spend? The Carbotech's are pretty pricey, but nothing stops like them.

Happy to spend whatever I need to stop me, less interested in the cost more the performance but like everyone prefer to buy something that works rather than whats advertised as working...
