I'm going to be visiting a friend in Edinburgh this weekend and wondered if anyone could tell me where I can park.

My friend stays on st leonards street, and the only place I have parked before has been in waverley park.

Thanks

Fran

Thats a fair old walk from Waverly Park to St Leonards ! You could try parking in Holyrood Park Road, next to the pool. Like all the streets round that area it's hit or miss if you get a space. How far are you willing to walk or are you prepared to get a bus part of the way ?

If it's just over the weekend and you arrive after half 5 on Fri then wherever you can find a space round there.
Restrictions aren't enforced between 5.30pm Fri and 8.30am Mon.

Rankeillor St, Montague St, Bernard Terrace, Lutton Place, Oxford St are decent bets.

If you head down past the Commonwealth pool (Dalkieth Road) and turn left onto Priestfield Road you should be able to park there. It would be about a 10 minute walk back to St Leonards Street.

Any time i am in Edinburgh i park in the Sheraton hotel car park.
I always get a space, it is secure and it is not over priced.

Fran,
Be aware that this weekend is the start of "Freshers' Week", so students (and all their gear) will be moving back into Pollock Halls. The area around Pollock Halls (ie Commonwealth Pool, St Leonard's St etc) will be very busy with people looking for parking spaces to drop their offspring and car-full of paraphernalia off and get them settled in to their new accommodation.

Saturday afternoon should be the worst.
