Derren Brown - How did he do it?
Discussion
There is another thread going on this however, even though he is a little wotsit, this is real magic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90GfWDK9q5k

I liked that, not a lot....Well it was in 1987 when I was young.
I think he's very clever, a great performer/illusionist & his suggestive mind games are clever aswell.
I read somewhere he will only pick people he thinks he can manipulate?!
I 100% don't think he can "predict" the lottery, but it'll be interesting to see how he did it. - That's if he tells the truth on that!

That's fair enough as it seems impossible, so how the fI read somewhere he will only pick people he thinks he can manipulate?!

Did you watch the gathering afterwards?.. Most of it i don't really know how it was done but the taxi driver at the end could of been so easily set up..
He even asked for all taxi drivers to stand up and then he picked the one he wanted..
That could of so easily been pre rehearsed..
Anyone agree?

I think he's a genius and a great showman.
Let's look at the evidence:
He could not have really predicted the numbers in advance.
His prediction was revealed on six balls constantly in view.
He therefore must have some mechanism or device for inscribing the numbers on the balls very quickly and without visual detection.
I very much doubt that the explanation he gives tomorrow will be the real one.

Can anyone find the same act but with different music? I remember it very clearly from my childhood - Music I think was Pink Floyd.

Or that the left hand side of the screen was a freeze frame. ( notice how still he was when the actually live lottery was on?) and someone simply changed the balls while the screen was frozen? ( as per many films where they rob banks etc)

He can't be too confident in his abilities as when he did the Roulette he did'nt do it with live ammunition.
I watched part of the Gathering afterwards.
Did the woman change which envelope she wanted?
& why was "forget" flashing up every now and again?
Didn't he say he was trying to get people to forget the show?.. i had to pause it to see what it kept saying, thought my eyes were playing up on me lolI watched part of the Gathering afterwards.

Could you imagine Derren Brown winning the lottery every week! I reckon they'd start to get a bit annoyed! Could they really do anything though!? Awesome!I watched part of the Gathering afterwards.

Apparently with the Roulette, the blank rounds held so close to his head would have killed him / seriously injured him anyway. I love him, great entertainer!

Good thinking, and it would fit with his "expected audience" (i.e. people who watch TV, trust their eyes when they see what's on TV)john_p said:

Is this one of those things which he does 'LIVE' in front of a camera, which records it, it's then edited before it's played back as 'LIVE' footage?
Apparently he flipped a coin 10 times and get a head every single time once. Took him a day and a half of attempts before they captured the 'LIVE' footage they could air.
Nope as he did it live during the actual lottery draw, you could flick between the channels to see the lottery playing live on BBC and also live on a TV he had playing next to him.Apparently he flipped a coin 10 times and get a head every single time once. Rather impressive!
