Hey All,

Anyone know a place in central scotland that will do an ECU remap or chip on a 2007 non turbo Impreza? Asked around at Andy Forest but he only does Turbos.

Any suggestions would be great.

Regards

Chris

I know a guy Mark who works full time for big dealership - (master technition or something), but also does remaps. He might be able to help you. He stays in Falkirk, can't get much more central than that.

I got a turbo car remapped at Sedada cars in Prestwick, really good service and worth the drive down. I didn't know Mark did remaps at the time, so that's why i didn't use him. Let me know if you want his number.

Andy Forrest, Edinburgh, the guy probably knows scooby engines better than anyone...

Edit: Oops, I just noticed you've already spoken to Andy Forrest. Thats what I get for typing before I read the original post properly.

i know its no help but it is a pointless waste of money remapping a non-turbo subaru. in fact it is a pointless exercise remapping almost any non turbocharged car unless it has a good few other mods to make the map worthwhile such as full exhaust system, cams etc.

Yeah ive heard alot of people saying that it doesnt make much of a difference but its just i need a wee bit more overtaking power.

yes this man is talking sense- sorry to say it but..

Has it got any mods atm?
if not id mod 1st rather than goin stright to a map - wont give you much more power (or the extra power you want)
and for the money it will cost... id have a think

Only real mods ive got atm are a custom decat which took out the first cat and ive got a high flow panel filter. Would you suggest taking out the air box and putting in an induction kit? Ive only got another few months until i can get reasonable turbo insurance anyways but its still sitting a bit high atm ( aprox £2000 p/a)

just wait then and put the cost of the remap towards your insurance.

i would wait if you are looking to get a turbo anyway, a chip will give no next to no extra overtaking power and cost a couple of hundred quid in doing so. spend the money on a remap for your turbo car and you will notice it.
