Aha, but I have been a 'cold caller' (B2B) and targets have spent many tens of thousands of pounds... but my motivation is (1) I love what I do (2) if nobody buys anything, my annual salary is £0.00pa. Focuses the mind somewhat, especially when you bear in mind that self-employed people are effectively immune from State aid, sickness leave yadada.
As a Student I must confess to
having spent a morning workin
g in a cold calling place. I
went for lunch and never came
back. It was what you imagine
a grotty little office with 6
young adults with no indepen
dant thought at all sitting on
phones drinking lager at 09:0
0 in the morning.
hmmm makes it look pretty illegible really

I actually tried to get a quote for double glazing once from a cold caller (who was selling double glazing), for 8 flats. They said they'd call me back because they'd have to speak with a manager. Needless to say I never heard from them again. We ended up paying out more than £40k between the 8 of us to someone else.
